How should I categorize an unknown transaction if I'm unsure which category it belongs to?

If you're unsure about which category your unknown transaction belongs to, don't worry! The team at Formations is here to assist you. We're happy to guide you through the process and help ensure that your transactions are properly categorized.

We've introduced a feature that allows you to provide context about this transaction, helping our team determine the best way to categorize it! Just follow those steps (or watch the short video at the end) :

1. Review your "unknown transaction" list. Click "choose category" to open the categories drop down menu and review the options.

2. If you're unsure about which category your unknown transaction belongs to. simply scroll to the end and click "help me decide"

3. A chat box will pop, allowing you to share context about this transaction, helping our team determine the best way to categorize it, and click "send"

4. Our team will review your note, and will categorize this transaction, or reply to your note with additional info. You can now see your unknown transaction marked as "pending" for the Formations team review. you can view, edit or add to your note in the notes icon on the right.
