What is a K-1?

Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) is a form that reports your share of a partnership's income, deductions, credits, etc.

The partnership (your S-Corp) uses Schedule K-1 to report your share of the partnership's income, deductions, credits, etc. Your K-1 will be uploaded to the Document Hub in your Formations account. Formations will file a copy of your Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) with the IRS.

For your protection, Schedule K-1 may show only the last four digits of your identifying number (social security number (SSN), etc.).

Although your S-Corp generally isn't subject to income tax, you may be liable for tax on your share of the partnership income, whether or not distributed. Include your share on your personal tax return. If Formations prepares and files your personal tax return (1040), the process will be fully streamlined for you.
